What is Valor's warranty on gas fireplaces?

Valor backs its gas fireplaces with a limited lifetime warranty on the major castings and components against manufacturing defects, and every Valor we install also carries Steady Flame's own workmanship guarantee. Exact coverage varies by part, so the specific terms come in the paperwork with your unit — we'll go through them with you.

What the coverage looks like

Like the other quality gas brands we carry, Valor stands behind its fireplaces with a limited lifetime warranty covering the core components against defects in materials and workmanship. Valor's simplicity actually helps here — with no blower and no circuit board on units like the H5, there's less to fail in the first place. A millivolt system is about as robust as gas ignition gets.

On top of the factory warranty, our install carries our workmanship guarantee, so both the appliance and the work behind it are covered by accountable parties.

The install is what keeps it valid

A manufacturer's warranty assumes the fireplace was installed correctly and permitted — a DIY or unlicensed gas connection can void it. In North Carolina that's not a gray area: running the gas line is licensed work, full stop.

When we install a Valor, we permit it, pressure-test the line, and meet the county inspector, which protects the warranty and your homeowner's insurance alike. Unpermitted gas work can quietly undo both, and we've seen homeowners get burned by that on a house sale.

Keeping it in good standing

Warranties assume reasonable upkeep. An annual service — late summer or early fall, before you're leaning on the heat — keeps a Valor running clean and keeps you covered. Even a simple radiant unit collects the classic WNC off-season gift: spiders and dust in the pilot assembly and burner. A yearly tune-up clears that before it turns into a no-heat call.

We won't publish exact year-counts here because they vary by component and can change; the real terms come with your unit. Call (828) 545-0525 and we'll walk you through them.
