What measurements does a fireplace dealer need before quoting an insert or log set?

Fuel isn't a given here
Because Candler mixes propane properties with newer gas-served subdivisions, we confirm exactly what you're burning before quoting — propane needs a different orifice and higher pressure than natural gas, and getting that wrong soots the unit. If you're on propane, we also check the tank, regulator, and line-of-sight as part of the measure-up, since the fuel side is as much a part of the quote as the firebox.
Builder-grade boxes ready for real heat
A lot of the fast-growing subdivisions here went in with basic decorative builder-grade fireboxes, and within a few years owners want a real heat-producing upgrade.
