Are Real Fyre gas logs good and worth the money?
Yes. Real Fyre is the gold standard for a realistic vented gas log set, and for the look, it's worth the premium over big-box sets. The ceramic-fiber logs are hand-painted and cast from real oak, so at conversational distance they read as actual firewood. What you're actually paying for
The difference shows the second you light it. A budget log set looks painted on, with flat molding and a thin blue flame. A Real Fyre set, like the Charred American Oak we carry, is cast from real split oak, hand-painted with bark and char, and bedded over a deep glowing ember pan. The flame is the tall, realistic yellow that's the closest gas gets to a real wood fire.

Where they fit, and where they don't
A vented Real Fyre set is ambiance, full stop. The damper stays open and most of the heat goes up the chimney, so we never sell it as a primary heater. Where Real Fyre shines is an existing masonry fireplace in an Asheville home you want to enjoy without hauling wood or dealing with cold-start smoke. With a standing-pilot burner it'll even light during a power outage, though again, that's flame and glow, not room heat.
