Are there rebates or change-out programs for replacing an old wood stove?
Not through any active program, though Swannanoa has seen a wave of replacements for a different reason. Since the storm damage, recovery and rebuilding have driven strong demand for new fireplace and stove installs in rebuilt Grovemont-area homes. No standing change-out incentive is running in Buncombe County to offset that, so plan the work on its merits and check for a program separately.
Rebuilding is the local story
A lot of Swannanoa's 1940s-to-'60s homes around Grovemont are being renovated or rebuilt, and that's where most of our stove work here originates, not an efficiency upgrade but a fresh hearth in a home coming back together.
