Put yours on a level, well-drained pad that sheds water away, tuck it out of the wind behind the house or plantings, and hold clearances to the structure, trees, and property line.
Drainage first, everything else second

Set a pad on flat, soggy ground and you get a pit that sits in a puddle, an unlevel burner, and freeze-thaw that walks the whole thing out of true. Propane country, and the buried line
