If I start in November, can I convert my wood fireplace to gas logs in time for the holidays?

Propane and rural distances set the pace

On Mills River's big wooded and farm lots around Horse Shoe and the Mills River Valley, the gas line frequently runs a longer distance from the tank to the hearth, and propane needs LP-specific orifices and pressures — a log set or insert has to be configured for it.

None of that is hard, but it's real work a boxed-kit seller skips, and it's part of why we quote after seeing the property. We connect the regulator and piping and coordinate the tank with your supplier.

Log set now, fire pit in the spring

For the holidays, focus on the indoor conversion — a vented Real Fyre set for ambiance, or a Kozy Heat propane insert if you want genuine heat in the room. Mills River's open valley is also ideal for outdoor gas features.

But a fire pit is a spring project for entertaining season, not a holiday rush — we'll note it and come back to it when the timing's right rather than crowding your December window.

Henderson County permit, honest timeline

The gas line is licensed work in North Carolina — a landscaper or mason can't legally connect fuel, but we can. We run or extend the line, permit it with Henderson County, pressure-test, and meet the inspector. Mills River's about 25 minutes south of our Asheville showroom.
