Weaverville, North Carolina

My fireplace brand went out of business — can I still get parts and service?

Almost certainly yes. Weaverville is really two towns for a fireplace tech — fast new construction out in Reems Creek and older downtown homes with original, inefficient masonry fireboxes — and it's the older half where a defunct-brand insert usually turns up. A discontinued nameplate rarely means the unit is finished.

Two housing worlds, two kinds of call

The new Reems Creek builds seldom carry orphaned brands — their fireplaces are current models. It's Weaverville's older downtown homes, where owners dropped a gas insert into an original masonry firebox sometime in the last few decades, that bring the 'my brand is gone' question. Almost always the maker was simply bought out. Brands and their tooling pass to a company that continues them when a manufacturer exits, and we find out who supplies that unit now from the model and serial.

The parts don't care who made it

Inside, the components that fail — valve, pilot, thermocouple, blower — came from shared industry suppliers, so equivalents still in production fit a defunct brand cleanly. We keep orphaned fireplaces running across Buncombe County that way. On those older downtown units we also weigh efficiency: an open masonry fireplace can run a net heat loss, while a sealed insert commonly runs seventy percent efficient or better, which is worth knowing before you spend on a fix.

Fix it or upgrade it

If it's a common part, we fix it inexpensively and you keep your fireplace. If a proprietary firebox or front is no longer available on an aging prefab, we'll price a modern insert honestly against the repair — no upsell. We're fifteen minutes north and licensed to permit and pressure-test any gas work with the county. Call (828) 545-0525 or visit the Asheville showroom.
