What is Superior's warranty on its fireplaces?
Superior backs its fireplaces with a manufacturer's limited warranty — the longest terms on the firebox and, on wood units, the EPA combustion structure, with shorter coverage on electronics, valves, blowers, and glass. Terms vary by model and by whether it's gas or wood. Our workmanship guarantee rides on top of the factory warranty.
Gas and wood carry different terms
Superior spans two very different products, and the warranties reflect that. It's a value-priced EPA wood line (like the WRT4500) plus a powerful vent-free option (the VRT4036, running 99.9% efficiency). The wood firebox structure gets one kind of coverage; a gas valve and ignition get another; and a vent-free unit's oxygen-depletion-sensor safety parts have their own terms.
The honest move is to read the warranty card for your exact model — the number on the plate tells us which terms apply.
What keeps the coverage alive
Professional, licensed installation is the big one. That matters double on the vent-free units, which come with real rules — room-size BTU limits, an ODS shutoff, and restrictions that keep them out of bedrooms and bathrooms in many jurisdictions. Installed and used within those limits they're a fine supplemental heater; installed wrong, they're a problem.
Register the unit, keep the install paperwork, and service it annually. DIY or unlicensed work voids the warranty — and gas connection is licensed work in NC to begin with.
