What is Valor HeatShift and how does it work?
HeatShift is Valor's heat-management system — a set of hidden channels that captures the warm air rising off the fireplace and redirects it up and away, releasing it back into the room higher up (or out the side) instead of letting it build against the wall directly above. It runs on natural convection alone — no fan, no electricity — and it's what lets you safely hang a TV or run a mantel over a Valor while still getting the radiant heat. Call (828) 545-0525.
The problem HeatShift solves
Heat rises. On any fireplace, a lot of the warmth comes off the top of the unit and travels straight up the wall — which is exactly where people want to put a television or a wood mantel. That rising heat is what can cook a TV, discolor paint, or bake a timber mantel over time. HeatShift is Valor's answer: hidden ducts behind the finished wall that capture that rising heat and carry it up and away from the surface directly above the fireplace, releasing it back into the room at a higher point — through a front outlet, side-wall grilles, or a concealed valance, depending on the design.
The result is a cooler wall right above the fireplace, where your TV or mantel lives, and warm air returned to the room up high where it actually circulates instead of soaking into the wall. And like the rest of a Valor, it does all of this on natural convection — no fan and no electricity, so it keeps working in an outage.
