Outdoor-rated isn't the same as indoor
This is the mistake we catch most often: someone wants to save money by putting an indoor fireplace out on the porch. Don't. Outdoor-rated units use stainless steel and weather-sealed components specifically to handle rain, humidity, and temperature swings — an indoor firebox will corrode and fail, and it isn't listed or safe for the location.
There's also a difference between units rated for a covered porch and those rated for a fully open patio, so the listing has to match how exposed the spot really is.
