Which brands make see-through (double-sided) gas fireplaces?
Several brands we carry build see-through, double-sided gas fireplaces — Heat & Glo, Napoleon, Majestic, and Mendota all offer fireboxes with glass on both faces that open to two rooms at once. They're a favorite for splitting a great room from a kitchen, or a primary suite from a bath wall. We install and vent them; come see the options in the showroom.
What a see-through fireplace actually does
A double-sided fireplace is a single firebox with glass front and back, so one fire warms and decorates two spaces. It's a beautiful way to divide an open floor plan without building a solid wall — a fire you can see from the kitchen and the living room, or from the bedroom and the bath.
They're almost always direct-vent, which gives us real flexibility on where the vent run goes. One planning note: because both faces are glass, a see-through generally isn't the unit to hang a TV directly above unless it's a specific cool-wall model.

Planning a double-sided install
See-through units demand more upfront planning than a standard fireplace: venting has to clear both openings, clearances apply on two sides, and the framing has to be right before the drywall goes up. If you're pairing it with a stone or tile surround, we coordinate with your mason so the clearances are honored on both faces.
