Many Backgrounds. One Standard.

Who coordinates the gas line, electrician, and finish work — me or the fireplace company?

We do — that's the whole point of hiring one licensed company. Steady Flame runs and permits the gas line ourselves, sets the appliance and venting, and coordinates the electrician and any mason or finish carpenter. You get one accountable point of contact and a single workmanship guarantee instead of stitching a job across four trades yourself.

The gas side is ours, by law

In North Carolina, running or extending a gas line is licensed work. A furniture showroom or a mason can sell you a beautiful firebox, but they legally can't connect it to fuel — we can, and we permit and pressure-test every line we run. That licensed-gas piece is the spine of the whole project, so we don't hand it off. We pull the permit with your county — Buncombe, Henderson, Haywood, or Transylvania — and meet the inspector ourselves.

What we coordinate versus what stays yours

Around that gas core, a fireplace can touch a few other trades. If a blower or an insert needs a dedicated outlet, we bring in and schedule the electrician. If you want a stone surround, we work with a mason partner; a custom mantel means a finish carpenter. On an outdoor kitchen we handle the gas and appliance side and coordinate with your builder or hardscaper on counters and stonework. You're not the one chasing everyone's calendar — we sequence it so each trade shows up in the right order.

One company on the hook

The alternative is buying a box at one place, hunting for someone licensed to make it burn, and refereeing between them when something doesn't line up. We'd rather you have a single company standing behind the appliance, the venting, the gas line, the permit, the inspection, and the finished result. That's our lane and no one else's.
