Who installs the propane tank versus the fireplace — is it the same company?
In Brevard it's almost always two parties working together, because this is propane country. Your propane supplier owns, sets, and fills the tank; Steady Flame installs the fireplace and runs the licensed gas piping, regulator, and appliance connection from the tank to the flame — permitted with Transylvania County and pressure-tested.
Propane country, and what that means for the tank
Out here, between downtown Brevard and the cabins tucked up toward Connestee Falls and Sherwood Forest, the natural-gas mains give way to propane. That puts a leased or owned tank in nearly every yard, and the line running from that tank to the hearth is licensed work no delivery crew, mason, or landscaper can legally touch. We size that line for the appliance, connect the regulator, run the pipe into the home, pull the permit, and pressure-test the whole thing before the inspector signs off. The tank is your supplier's specialty; everything downstream of it is ours, and no one else's.
Wet-climate care around the connection
Brevard takes more than 80 inches of rain a year, and it shows in cracked crowns, spalled brick, rusted dampers, and moisture-prone chimney chases and crawl spaces — the wet season runs hard from March into June. When we route a propane line and set a regulator in that environment, we're mindful of the damp, because corrosion at a fitting is the last thing you want on a fuel line. A licensed gas contractor installs for the long haul in a climate this wet, not just for the day of the demo.
Talking to your propane supplier for you
You shouldn't have to play middleman between the tank company and the fireplace crew. We coordinate placement and capacity directly with your propane supplier so the tank side and the appliance side line up cleanly, and you get one accountable licensed company for the fireplace, the venting, the gas line, the permit, and the inspection. Brevard is about 40 minutes southwest of our Asheville showroom. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free assessment.
