Brevard is propane country on our fuel map, and Napoleon builds LP-configured units for exactly that, so Steady Flame Fireplaces is your authorized Napoleon dealer, installing them from downtown to the Connestee Falls cabins. See them lit at our Asheville showroom, a 40-minute drive at 629 Emma Rd, or call (828) 545-0525.
Propane done right, not just hooked up
Propane burns hotter per unit than natural gas and needs different orifices and pressures; set it up wrong and a Napoleon that should throw clean heat will soot its glass and logs instead. As a licensed gas contractor we handle the whole LP side: regulator, piping, and appliance setup, coordinated with your propane supplier for the tank. The Uptown square gas fire pit runs 60,000 BTU on LP for the patio; indoors, the Ascent 36 comes in a propane configuration that's a right-sized workhorse for a Brevard living room or cabin great room. For a timber-frame or mountain-modern home out toward Sherwood Forest, a clean, correctly set propane flame becomes the centerpiece people gather around on a cold, wet Transylvania night.
Eighty inches of rain is hard on chimneys
Transylvania County catches more than 80 inches of rain a year, and it shows: cracked crowns, spalled brick, rusted dampers, and moisture creeping into chimney chases and crawl spaces. Before we set any insert or vent, we look at where water is getting in, because a beautiful new firebox venting through a failing chimney is a problem waiting to happen. A sealed direct-vent Napoleon sidesteps a marginal masonry flue entirely, venting out a sidewall instead.
One accountable company, Transylvania permit and all
In North Carolina only a licensed gas contractor can legally connect your fireplace to fuel; a furniture store or a mason can't. We pull the Transylvania County permit, pressure-test the line, and meet the inspector, so you're not stitching the job across three parties. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free in-home assessment or see Napoleon lit at the Asheville showroom.
