Fletcher, North Carolina

Who supplies natural gas in the Asheville area, and how do I ask them about getting service to my home?

Fletcher is solid natural-gas country, supplied by Enbridge Gas North Carolina — the utility once called PSNC and briefly Dominion Energy. Along the I-26 and Airport Road corridor, mains are well established, so call Enbridge with your address to confirm your street and the tap cost. From the meter to the fireplace — residential or commercial — the work is ours.

Where the gas is, growth follows

Fletcher sits on the I-26 corridor between Asheville and Hendersonville, and the commercial and airport-area development here drives more demand for gas fireplaces and outdoor features than the surrounding residential towns. Because the mains are well established along the corridor, availability is usually a given — the questions are capacity and placement. For a business, restaurant, or office lobby, we size the branch line for the appliance on top of the building's existing gas load and coordinate the install around your schedule, permitted and inspected like any other job.

Builder-grade boxes ready for better

Fletcher's 1990s-era subdivisions came with builder-grade fireplaces — serviceable, but rarely the best heat or look the room could have. Swapping in a sealed insert or upgrading to a modern direct-vent or linear unit is one of the common calls we take here, and with the gas already at the house, it's often a straightforward job. Spec millivolt or battery-backup ignition and the upgrade also buys you heat when the power's out, which this county now asks about by name.

The meter line, and a Henderson permit

Enbridge owns and quotes everything on the street side of the meter; past it, running or extending a line is licensed gas work a showroom or general contractor legally can't finish — we can, and we pull the Henderson County permit and meet the inspector. One accountable company handles the line, the appliance, and the permit, and most repairs finish in a single visit with the common parts on the truck. Fletcher is about 20 minutes south of our Asheville shop. Call (828) 545-0525.
