Will a fireplace blower run during a power outage?
In Flat Rock, no — a blower is an electric fan and it stops with the power. They're beautiful, and they're the least efficient way to heat a room — an open hearth pulls cold air in and sends warmth up the chimney. Running the gas line to an old masonry fireplace is licensed work — a mason can rebuild the firebox, but legally can't connect the fuel.
