Natural gas runs most of the city, so a sealed direct-vent fireplace goes in from inside your home in a day or two — a hard freeze outside changes nothing indoors.

Montford and North Asheville are full of original masonry fireboxes that lose more heat up the flue than they throw into the room on a January night. Dropping a sealed gas insert with a correctly sized liner into one of those old fireplaces is indoor work we finish in a day. South Asheville's newer homes take a clean-face unit just as easily — a Napoleon Ascent 36 or a Heat & Glo 6000CLX anchoring a great room. Either way the labor happens inside, so the thermometer on the porch never touches the schedule.
Local permit, local inspector, fast measure
Because we're minutes from most Asheville addresses, we can send an installer to Kenilworth, Biltmore Village, or West Asheville for a measurement quickly, then pull the Buncombe County permit and meet the inspector on the same job. That single-source path — appliance, venting, licensed gas line, permit, inspection — matters more in winter, when the last thing you want is to be hunting for someone licensed to connect the fuel while the cold sets in.
The only thing to beat is the calendar
Elevation keeps Asheville nights in the 20s well into spring, so people want a working hearth exactly when we're busiest — December through February. A special-order linear front or designer model carries its own factory lead time on top of our install weeks.
