Can gas logs be installed in any existing fireplace?
In Canton, there's an extra question before the usual ones: did water get to your fireplace? The Pigeon River flooding left plenty of valley homes with water-damaged fireboxes and gas connections, and none of that takes vented logs until it's repaired and re-inspected. A sound masonry fireplace here still qualifies — we just verify it's actually sound.
Flood-touched fireplaces come first

A firebox that took on water, a rusted damper, a gas connection that was submerged — every one of those has to be checked and made right before a vented log set is even on the table. Vented logs ride their exhaust up an open flue; that flue and firebox have to be genuinely intact, not just cleaned up on the surface. We inspect the gas-line integrity as closely as the masonry.
Fog, damp, and mixed fuel
Even setting the flooding aside, Canton's valley-floor fog and morning dampness rust dampers and chimney caps faster than you'd expect, so flue condition is a live question here more than most places. Canton is mixed-fuel country too — some natural gas, some propane — and a Real Fyre set has to be built for whichever you've got, or it soots.
