Do all fireplace brands offer propane (LP) versions, or does switching from natural gas require a conversion kit?
Candler straddles the fuel line. Much of it, like neighboring Fairview, runs on propane, though the newer Enka-Candler subdivisions may reach gas, so confirming what's actually at your house matters here. Every brand we carry offers both natural-gas and propane versions, never both in one unit. It's spec'd for your fuel or converted at install with a factory kit. Licensed work.
Builder-grade boxes owners outgrow
Candler is one of the fastest-growing suburban communities around Asheville, and the new subdivisions come with basic decorative builder-grade fireboxes, the kind owners want to trade for real heat-producing units within a few years. When you do that upgrade, it gets specced for your actual fuel: LP on a propane property, natural gas where a subdivision has a line. Because Candler sits right on the fuel boundary, that check isn't a formality, it decides which orifices and what pressure the new appliance is built around.
Hominy Valley and a clean burn
Hominy Valley's natural bowl traps air, which is one reason clean-burning sealed appliances are attractive here, direct-vent units that pull combustion air from outside and vent it right back out. A correctly-fueled sealed fireplace burns clean; a mismatched one soots. Setting the fuel is licensed work, so we confirm your line, permit with Buncombe County, and pressure-test.
