Do fireplace showrooms keep units in stock, or is everything special-ordered?
Clyde's 1960s-80s ranch homes have dated fireplaces ripe for an insert upgrade — and that insert is measured and ordered to the existing opening, not carried off a shelf. The units burning in our showroom are demonstrators so you can compare. Your fireplace is built to your order; a few everyday lines just arrive faster.
Insert upgrades are a made-to-fit order
The older ranch-style builds around Clyde came with fireplaces that are dated and inefficient by today's standard, and the satisfying fix is a sealed insert dropped into the existing masonry — sized to that specific opening and liner. That's inherently a made-to-order job, not a shelf pull, since no two of these fireboxes are identical. Clyde runs mixed fuel, some homes on natural gas and others on propane, so the insert is configured for your fuel as part of the order. And with river humidity here rusting dampers and degrading masonry chimneys, we check the flue and spec a liner where it's needed rather than assume. See the insert run, then we order yours.
Haywood County, cold-air drainage, one trip
Clyde shares the cold-air drainage that settles over Canton and Waynesville, so the upgraded fireplace has to put out real heat on a cold valley morning. As a licensed gas contractor we pull the Haywood County permit, pressure-test the line, and meet the inspector on the gas work. We're 25 minutes west, so your special-ordered insert stages on site before install day for a single trip. Call (828) 545-0525.
