Sylva is a 50-minute run west of our Emma Road showroom, so we don't stock-and-carry — your fireplace is ordered to your Jackson County home and scheduled to be on site for a single install trip. The units burning on our floor are demonstrators, not inventory. A few everyday models arrive faster; most are built to your order.
River-valley moisture rules out a generic unit
The Tuckasegee valley's cold-air drainage and river moisture are hard on hearths here — dampers rust and flue liners degrade faster than owners expect. So a fresh liner or a sealed insert gets ordered to the actual condition of your chimney, which you only know after we look. Sylva's housing runs from heavily used, inconsistently maintained student and rental units near Western Carolina to historic Dillsboro homes with older masonry chimneys, and each one is measured to its own opening. Shelf stock can't account for a specific worn firebox or a marginal liner — an ordered-to-spec unit can.
Mixed fuel, one coordinated trip
Sylva runs mixed fuel, some homes on natural gas and others on propane, so the appliance's orifice and pressure are configured for your address rather than assumed. The distance is why the logistics matter: we time the special-ordered unit to land before install day so a 50-minute trip is one visit, not several.
