Does Real Fyre make ventless (vent-free) gas logs?
Yes. Real Fyre makes both vented and vent-free gas log sets. The vented sets are the realistic, decorative-first ones with the tall yellow flame; the vent-free sets burn cleaner and hotter to throw real supplemental heat into the room, but come with strict sizing, room, and code rules. Vented versus vent-free, Real Fyre style
A vented Real Fyre set runs with the damper open. Most of the heat goes up the chimney, but you get the tallest, most realistic flame, which is why we sell the Charred American Oak as ambiance.
A vent-free set runs with the damper closed, so nearly all the heat stays in the room, and it includes an ODS oxygen-depletion sensor that shuts it off if air quality drops. The tradeoff is real: vent-free adds indoor moisture, has strict room-size Btu limits, and is restricted or outright prohibited in some applications, bedrooms and bathrooms in particular. Which one for your home
If you want the look above all, go vented. If you want the existing firebox to actually warm the room, a correctly sized vent-free set works, or a sealed direct-vent insert does it even better and sidesteps the vent-free rules entirely.
Our honest stance: vent-free is safe when it's correctly sized, installed, maintained, and used within the rules. If you're on the fence, vented or direct-vent avoids the question.
