Two Sylva realities complicate this further. The student and rental housing around Cullowhee and WCU gets heavy use and inconsistent upkeep — chimneys that haven't been swept or inspected in a long time. And the historic homes over in Dillsboro carry older masonry chimneys that need a careful look. Neither rules out vented logs on its own; both mean we're not ordering anything until the firebox and flue pass. Sylva is mixed-fuel, so we also confirm natural gas versus propane and spec the Real Fyre set accordingly.
