Flood-damaged gas is not a shelf problem

The Pigeon River valley's flooding water-damaged hearths and gas appliances across Canton, and a submerged gas fireplace or line isn't something you simply swap and relight. Valves, controls, and connections have to be inspected and, where needed, replaced by someone licensed to work on gas. This is safety work, not a retail purchase.

A big-box store can hand you a new firebox, but it legally cannot inspect, re-run, or pressure-test the gas line that feeds it. That gap is the whole ballgame here.
