Should I get a natural gas or propane fire pit?
Fletcher is solidly natural gas — the mains serve the I-26 corridor, the 1990s subdivisions, and the airport-area commercial strip — so a plumbed gas pit with no tank to refill is the default here, at home or at a business. It's the lowest cost per BTU and always ready. Only a rare unserved lot falls back to a propane tank.
Commercial and Residential, Same Easy Fuel
Fletcher is unusual in our service area for how much commercial demand it has — the airport-area businesses want outdoor gas features and fire pits at a rate the surrounding residential communities don't. Natural gas suits both: a restaurant patio or an office courtyard gets the same buried-line-off-the-main simplicity a subdivision back yard does, with no tanks for staff or homeowners to monitor and swap.
The 1990s subdivisions are prime candidates too. Many have builder-grade fireplaces indoors that owners eventually upgrade, and the outdoor equivalent is adding a real gas pit to a yard that never had one — an easy tie-in, since the natural-gas main already runs to the house and the meter's usually close to the patio.
New I-26 Construction? Plan Ahead
With steady new building along the corridor, the smart move on any fresh construction is to run the pit's gas line during the project, before the landscaping's finished. Trenching once, while the ground's open, saves cutting into a completed patio later — worth raising with your builder or contractor early, whether it's a home or a commercial site.
Henderson County Permit
Extending a gas line is licensed work, so we pull the Henderson County permit, pressure-test the line, and meet the inspector — the same standard for a business patio as a back yard. We're 20 minutes south of the showroom. Call (828) 545-0525 for a free assessment.
For a commercial job, that permitted, inspected line also protects your liability and your insurance — reason enough not to let an unlicensed crew near the fuel connection. Come see the pits at 629 Emma Rd anytime.
