Candler straddles the fuel line
Candler is one of the trickier fuel maps we work. Closer in, the built-up Enka-Candler corridor can tie into a natural-gas main; out toward Hominy Valley, Sand Hill, and the Pisgah Highway, propane from a tank is the norm. It matters, because a Superior gas unit is built differently for each — propane runs at higher pressure and needs different orifices, and a natural-gas unit dropped on propane will soot. We confirm your fuel before we spec anything.
If you'd rather not deal with either, the EPA-certified WRT4500 wood box burns split oak and needs no line.
New subdivisions, builder-grade fireboxes, real-heat upgrades
Candler is growing fast, and a lot of the new subdivisions came with basic decorative builder-grade fireboxes — flame, not much heat. Owners here tend to want a real heat-producing upgrade within a few years, and Superior is a value-priced way to get one without a luxury markup. In the Hominy Valley bowl, where air can settle, a clean-burning sealed appliance is doubly appealing — it keeps the heat in and the combustion sealed off from the room.
Licensed connection, Buncombe permit
Whether it's a gas main or a propane tank, connecting the fuel is licensed work in North Carolina — a builder or handyman can't legally do it.
