That split is exactly why the unit and the install can't come apart — a propane appliance has to be set to LP with the right orifices and pressure and its regulator connected, while a natural-gas hookup means tapping the main. Both are licensed contractor tasks in North Carolina; a delivery crew or handyman legally can't make either connection.
