Converting one of these old hearths usually means a correctly sized liner and, on Flat Rock's natural-gas mains, tapping or extending the gas line — both licensed contractor tasks in North Carolina. A mason can rebuild the brick beautifully, but legally can't make the fuel connection. We do that, pressure-test it, pull the Henderson County permit, and meet the inspector.
