My house doesn't have natural gas service — can I still get a permanently plumbed fire pit with a dedicated propane tank?
Yes. Much of Arden — Skyland, Royal Pines, the Biltmore Park side — sits on natural-gas mains, but plenty of outlying lots toward Avery Creek and Glenn Bridge run on propane instead, and a permanently plumbed pit off a dedicated tank performs identically. We run and pressure-test the buried outdoor-rated line; your propane supplier owns and fills the tank.
Even a gas-main suburb has propane pockets
Arden's established 1980s-90s neighborhoods are largely on the utility line, but the line doesn't reach every parcel — the more rural lots and homes set back off the road often run on a tank. A fixed propane pit works exactly like a natural-gas one, so which fuel you're on doesn't change the result on the patio, only where the supply comes from. If the house already has propane, we can branch the pit off that tank.
Retrofitting an established backyard
Most Arden installs are retrofits into finished yards rather than new builds, which means a clean, planned trench for the outdoor-rated line and a tank placed where it's convenient for fills but out of the sightline. We map that on a walk-through, then set, connect, and pressure-test the run — the same care we bring to turning those tired open masonry fireboxes indoors into real sealed heaters.
Who does the gas
