Which fireplace brands are approved for mobile or manufactured homes?
For Mills River's rural manufactured homes — many on a propane tank out among the farmland — the mobile-home-listed brands we carry are Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Majestic, and Superior, spec'd for LP direct-vent. The specific model has to hold a manufactured-home listing, run an outside-air kit, and be secured to the structure.
Large lots, propane tanks
Mills River spreads out across farm and forest, and a lot of its manufactured homes sit well off any natural-gas main, running on their own propane tank. That shapes the fireplace: an LP unit uses different orifices and pressures than a natural-gas one, so we spec the Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Majestic, or Superior direct-vent model in both its manufactured-home listing and its propane setup, then coordinate the tank tie-in with your supplier.
Sealed heat, and an outdoor option
For a manufactured home, a sealed direct-vent fireplace is the practical answer — no chimney, vents out the wall, real heat that stays sealed from the room, and vent-free units are usually restricted here anyway. Mills River's open valley also lends itself to outdoor living, so if you're thinking about a gas fire pit for the entertaining season, plan it for late spring; the same licensed gas line that feeds the fireplace can serve it.
Henderson County permit
The propane connection is licensed work no matter the home type — that's our lane. We confirm the unit's listing, install the outside-air kit, secure it, run and pressure-test the line, pull the Henderson County permit, and meet the inspector. We're 25 minutes south of the Asheville showroom; call (828) 545-0525 for a free in-home assessment.
