Where do I get replacement parts or glass for a Heat & Glo fireplace?
Right here in town — Steady Flame is your authorized Heat & Glo dealer, about ten minutes from most of Asheville at our 629 Emma Rd showroom. We pull OEM parts and sealed ceramic glass from the manufacturer, matched to your unit's model and serial number, then install them. Photograph the model tag and call (828) 545-0525.
What we see from Montford to South Asheville
The Heat & Glo units around Asheville fall into two camps. In Montford, North Asheville, and Biltmore Village, we're often working on a direct-vent unit tucked into an original masonry opening years ago — older serial numbers, occasionally a discontinued front, and glass and gaskets that have to match a model no longer in the catalog. Out in newer South Asheville construction it's usually a current clean-face model where the parts line up quickly.
Either way, the serial number is what separates a part that fits from one that doesn't, so a photo of the tag comes first. Because we're headquartered on Emma Rd, you can also bring the cracked glass by the showroom in person, and our technicians carry common gaskets, blowers, and igniters on the truck.
Cold-night glass and the Buncombe permit line
Asheville sits at 2,134 feet, and nights drop into the 20s well into spring. That cold-fire-to-hot-fire cycling is hard on ceramic glass — a chip or a stress crack in a corner is one of the most common calls we get. On a sealed direct-vent Heat & Glo that glass is part of the combustion seal, not a decorative pane, so we replace it with the factory ceramic and gasket and seat it correctly.
Swapping glass, a blower, or a remote receiver isn't permit work. The moment a repair touches the gas valve or the fuel line, though, it's licensed territory in North Carolina — as a licensed gas contractor we pull the Buncombe County permit, pressure-test, and meet the inspector. Call (828) 545-0525.
