Getting the part to the fireplace

Marshall's steep hillside homes and narrow, multi-story downtown buildings built against the mountainside make access its own challenge — and a sheet of ceramic Heat & Glo glass is both fragile and heavy. Part of doing this right here is bringing the correct OEM glass, protected, up tight stairs and pitched lots without cracking it on the way in.

We confirm the model and serial first so we make that trip once with the right piece, rather than measuring on-site and coming back — a photo of the tag before we roll saves the second climb.

Gorge damp and draft

The French Broad gorge keeps Marshall's evenings cool and damp, and the tight mountainside lots complicate draft while letting moisture work on the metal inside a fireplace — valves, blowers, and springs. On a sealed direct-vent Heat & Glo the glass front is part of the combustion seal, so a crack or a failed gasket is a function problem, not just a look.

We fit factory ceramic glass and the matching gasket so the seal is right, and quote the part upfront before any work begins.

Which repairs are licensed
