Will fireplace installers install a unit I bought somewhere else?
In Black Mountain, we generally install the fireplaces we supply — and the Swannanoa Valley's damp, shaded chimneys are a big reason. A unit bought online can't be matched to the real condition of your flue, and that's where these installs live or die. Bought one already? Call (828) 545-0525 and we'll take an honest look.
Wooded, damp, and hard on chimneys
Montreat's heavily wooded lots keep houses cool, shaded, and moisture-prone, and the valley's morning inversions run ten to fifteen degrees colder than Asheville. That combination ages masonry and rusts hardware faster than most people expect. An insert going into one of these chimneys has to be sized and lined to what's actually up there — a measurement, not a checkout button.
When we supply the appliance, run and pressure-test the gas line, handle the venting, and pull the Buncombe County permit, the entire job answers to one company. Bring your own unit and that chain splits at the worst possible seam — the fuel connection, which by law we'd be the ones to make.
The part we'll always do
Service isn't restricted. We repair all major hearth brands across downtown Black Mountain, Ridgecrest, and the Swannanoa Valley — Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Regency, and the rest — regardless of who sold or set the unit.
So an inherited or long-installed fireplace is covered for maintenance and repair. It's only new installs of outside-purchased appliances where we hold the line. Fifteen minutes east of the showroom, we're quick to come look. Call (828) 545-0525.
