Will fireplace installers install a unit I bought somewhere else?
In Flat Rock, the housing itself argues against a self-bought unit. Homes here date to the 1800s, with oversized open masonry fireplaces and aging clay flue liners — and an insert has to be sized and lined to that specific firebox. You can't order that fit from a website. Already have a unit? Call (828) 545-0525.
An 1800s firebox is a custom fit
Historic Flat Rock's grand old hearths were built for open wood fires, which means they pull cold-air drafts into the room and lose heat up an oversized flue. A sealed insert fixes the draftiness while keeping the character — but only if it's matched to the exact opening and paired with a correctly sized liner. Those are on-site measurements. A unit bought online is spec'd to a catalog, not to your chimney.
When we supply the appliance and do the liner, venting, gas line, and Henderson County permit as one job, the fit and the warranty are ours to guarantee. Bring your own box and the most consequential part — whether it actually fits and vents — is left to chance.
Restoration-friendly, and repair stays open
We preserve what makes these homes special, and service is never restricted. We repair every major hearth brand around Historic Flat Rock, Kanuga, and Highland Lake — Napoleon, Heat & Glo, Regency, and more — whether we installed it or not.
So an inherited fireplace is covered for maintenance and repair. It's only new installs of outside-bought appliances where we hold the line, because we'd be the licensed contractor connecting fuel. Thirty minutes south of the showroom — call (828) 545-0525.
