We measure the room, check where the natural-gas main and venting sit, and tell you honestly what the space allows.

That becomes a written quote — appliance, venting, gas line, Buncombe permit, labor, and hauling off any old firebox. No sales pressure here, and we'd sooner set you up with the right unit than the most expensive one.

Montford masonry versus South Asheville new-build

The job changes with the neighborhood. Montford and North Asheville homes tend to have original open masonry fireplaces that lose more heat than they make — there we're usually setting a sealed gas or wood insert with a correctly sized liner, like the Napoleon Oakville X4 or a Regency insert, so the old chimney finally earns its keep.

Newer South Asheville construction is built for clean-face linear gas — a Napoleon Vector 50 or Heat & Glo 6000CLX anchoring a great room. Either way we pull the permit with Buncombe County and meet the inspector on the gas work.
