What does the whole process look like from showroom visit to finished installation?
Brevard is propane country, so the first thing our free assessment settles is your fuel — tank, regulator, and the right orifices for LP. From there it's a written quote, a deposit to order your appliance and pull the Transylvania County permit, then install: most gas jobs in a day, wood and chimney work in two to three.
Propane sets the plan
Out in Brevard and the cabins, most homes run on propane rather than a gas main, so the assessment coordinates the tank and regulator with your supplier and specs the LP appliance and pressures — propane burns hotter per unit and needs different orifices, and a wrong-fuel setup soots. A Kozy Heat Springfield 36, or a Mendota FullView — the luxury centerpiece we set into timber-frame and mountain-modern homes around here — are common calls.

Rain is the enemy we check for first
Brevard takes 80-plus inches of rain a year, and it shows — cracked crowns, spalled brick, rusted dampers, and moisture in the crawl spaces and chimney chases. Before we quote a wood unit or an insert, we look hard at the flue and waterproofing so we're not installing into a chimney that's already failing.
The wet season runs March through June, so we'd rather assess and order ahead of it than fight water later.
Install day, then we light it with you
We're 40 minutes southwest of the Asheville showroom, so we plan trips tight. On install day we protect floors, run and pressure-test the propane line, set the appliance and venting, and the Transylvania inspector signs off. Then we light it with you and show you the controls.
