Will the installers remove and haul away my old fireplace or stove?
Yes — every Brevard replacement includes pulling the old unit and hauling it off. Around here that old firebox is often rusted or water-stained from our heavy rainfall, and much of Transylvania County runs on propane, so we disconnect the appliance, cap the line the licensed way, and load the old unit out. The removal is part of the job, not an add-on.
Rain, rust, and why it's coming out
Brevard catches eighty-plus inches of rain a year, and it shows up inside the chimney — cracked crowns, spalled brick, and dampers rusted stiff. A lot of the units we remove here are being replaced precisely because moisture got to them. Whatever the reason, the appliance comes out the same careful way: on propane, we disconnect the unit and cap it, leaving the tank work to your propane supplier; on the natural-gas jobs closer to town, we shut off and cap the line. Capping fuel is licensed gas work — the reason removal rides with the licensed install crew.
Cabins, crawl spaces, and the haul back
Plenty of Brevard work is up at cabins with tight chimney chases and damp crawl spaces, so we scope the removal path before install day — a heavy old stove doesn't come down a mountain driveway by accident. We're about forty minutes southwest of our Emma Rd showroom, and the old insert, stove, or firebox plus the demo debris goes back with us in one trip. If your project actually calls for tearing out the masonry structure itself, that's mason's work, and we'll say so before we start.
