Will the installers remove and haul away my old fireplace or stove?
Yes — when we install a replacement, removing and hauling away the old unit is part of the job. We safely disconnect and cap the gas, pull the old insert, stove, or firebox, and take it with us so you're not left figuring out how to move a heavy metal appliance. It's included, not a surprise line item.
Safe removal comes first
Before anything gets carried out, the old unit has to be disconnected the right way. For a gas fireplace or insert, that means shutting off and properly capping the line — licensed work, and not something to improvise. For a wood stove or insert, we break the connection to the flue or liner. Only then does it come out. Doing this in the wrong order is how people end up with a live gas stub in a wall, and it's the reason removal belongs with the same licensed crew doing the install.
What leaves with us
Old gas, wood, and pellet inserts, freestanding stoves, prefab fireboxes, and worn-out log sets all go on our truck along with the demo debris. These things are heavy, awkward, and a genuine pain to dispose of on your own, so we handle it. The one exception is a full masonry fireplace teardown — knocking out an old brick structure is mason's work, and we'll tell you up front if your project needs that rather than a straight swap.
If you'd rather keep or sell it
Not every old unit is scrap. An older wood stove in decent shape can be worth selling or handing down, and plenty of folks around here do exactly that. If you want to keep yours, just tell us before install day and we'll set it aside clean instead of hauling it off — no problem either way.
