Will the installers remove and haul away my old fireplace or stove?
Yes — Candler replacements include pulling the old firebox and hauling it away. A lot of the newer subdivisions here came with basic decorative builder-grade units that owners outgrow within a few years, so we disconnect and cap the fuel the licensed way, free the old box, and load it out. Fifteen minutes from our showroom, the haul is short and built into the job.
Decorative box out, real heater in
Candler is one of Asheville's fastest-growing suburbs, and the fast-built subdivisions came with decorative builder-grade fireboxes that look fine but make little heat — which is why owners here upgrade to a proper heat-producing unit within a few years. The Hominy Valley bowl adds a reason to go with a clean-burning sealed appliance: air quality settles in that natural basin, and a sealed unit keeps combustion out of your room. Whatever's coming out, the fuel gets shut off and capped the licensed way first.
Gas main or propane — it changes the cap
Fuel in Candler is a patchwork: natural gas is reaching the newer Enka-Candler subdivisions off the main, while much of the surrounding Hominy Valley still runs on propane. That changes the removal. On a gas line we cap at the valve; on propane we disconnect and cap the appliance and leave the tank to your supplier. Either way it's licensed gas work. The old unit and debris ride the fifteen minutes back to Emma Rd, we pull the Buncombe County permit for the new install, and a full masonry teardown is the only thing we'd route to a mason instead.
