Will the installers remove and haul away my old fireplace or stove?
Yes — Marshall replacements include hauling the old unit off, and here the tricky part is usually getting it out the door. These steep hillside lots and narrow downtown buildings make for a real carry, so we scope the path first, then disconnect and cap the fuel the licensed way, work the old appliance loose, and take it with us. It's part of the job.
Steep lots, narrow buildings, a real carry
Marshall is built against the mountainside — hillside homes with limited access and a revitalized downtown of narrow, multi-story buildings stacked along the French Broad. Getting a heavy old stove or insert down a set of steep exterior stairs or out of a tight second floor takes planning, so we walk the removal path before install day and figure out parking and the carry. Fuel comes first regardless: on natural gas we cap the line at the valve, on propane we cap the appliance and leave the tank to your supplier — both licensed gas work.
The route back to Emma Rd
We're about twenty-five minutes north of our showroom, so once the old appliance is free it and the demo debris ride back to Emma Rd in one trip rather than lingering in a cramped downtown space. For the new install we pull the county permit and meet the inspector. As everywhere, the exception is a full masonry teardown — pulling out the brick structure itself is a mason's job, and given how tight some of these Marshall lots are, we'll be candid with you about what's realistic before we start.
