Will the installers remove and haul away my old fireplace or stove?
Yes — for Mars Hill replacements, removal and haul-away come with the install. Whether it's an easy-use gas unit going into a university-area rental or a propane or wood appliance out in the Spring Creek valley, we disconnect and cap the fuel the licensed way, pull the old one, and load it out. You're not left moving a heavy firebox on your own.
Two Mars Hills, one careful removal
Mars Hill runs on two tracks — rentals around the university, where owners want a simple flip-a-switch gas fireplace, and rural homes up Spring Creek, Gabriels Creek, and the Forks of Ivy that lean on propane and wood. Removal adapts to the fuel. Natural gas gets shut off and capped at the valve; a propane unit gets disconnected and capped with the tank left to your supplier; a wood unit gets broken free of its flue or liner. Each is done in the right order so nothing's left live or hanging.
One of the colder spots, and the haul north
This is one of the colder corners we serve, so these hearths earn their keep and wear out earning it. We're about thirty minutes north of Emma Rd, and the old insert, stove, or firebox plus the debris goes back with us in a single trip. We pull the county permit and meet the inspector for the new install. The lone exception to the haul is a full masonry teardown — knocking out the brick structure is a mason's job, and we'll flag it before install day if that's what's involved.
Keeping the old stove
Wood stoves hold value up here; a sound one is worth keeping or handing down. Tell us before install day and we'll set it aside clean rather than haul it. Call (828) 545-0525 with questions about your Mars Hill swap.
