Can I put gas logs in a Superior or Majestic wood-burning fireplace?
In Mills River, yes — a true wood-burning Superior or Majestic will take a vented gas log set — but out here on these rural large-lot properties, the fuel is usually propane, not a natural-gas main. That changes the hardware: an LP log set needs the correct orifices and pressure, and the connection gets coordinated with your propane supplier and tank.
Propane, done right
Most of Mills River sits off the gas grid — farmland, forest, and large lots served by propane tanks rather than street mains. Gas logs run fine on propane, but LP burns hotter per unit than natural gas, so a set has to be configured for it: the right orifices, the right regulator and pressure, or the flame soots and burns dirty.
